Bulgaria 5. July – 14. July 2012

We cycled Bulgaria for about 10 days and 600 km, and had some problems in the beginning. Most of the signs were in Cyrillic script and hard to understand, so we asked for the way. “Excuse me, is it that direction to Sofia?”. The old women nodded her head, so we continued. But why is she shouting for us, we are on the right way… Ok we got lost, we didn´t know that the people in Bulgaria shock their head when they mean “yes” and nod for “no”.
We left the Danube behind, cycled over the Balkan Mountains to Sofia, did a shortcut trough Greece and ended up in Turkey.
